Hi all!
I am a beginner to this mainframe topic. I just started learning about
IBM Z systems 3 years ago at work and several colleagues pointed me to
hercules to be able to play with that technology at home.
I started watching the Moshix's youtube videos.
One of the things I do with mainframes is helping with getting openSUSE

I was a little shy to say hello until I would have learned more about
the usage of hercules and MVS, but as I wanted to answer with some
(maybe) useful information, I am taking the chance to introduce myself.
Because you were not sure if people can still subscribe to the Yahoo lists,
I subscribed to the old Yahoo mailing lists on 2019-11-15 (confirmation
email). And I am receiving emails from that list since then.
So, if someone has to approve new participants, at least that person
did until that date.
I have now subscribed to the new groups at groups.io.
I also take the oportunity to ask something. I know of three ways of instal=
ling Linux on an IMB Z system: LPAR, zVM guest, KVM guest.
KVM guest has nothing special in relation with other architectures.
At work I have learnt about how to install it as a zVM guest.
I don't have further access to the mainframe to be able to do an LPAR insta=
llation.
So, question 1:
Do you know if it is possible to emulate what I am doing for zVM with Hercu=
les? Maybe with the VM OS?
Question 2:
Is it possible to simulate the LPAR installation of Linux with Hercules?
