Mmm ... with BUF=4096 ... now ... I get:

IKF0015I-C BUF PARM TOO SMALL FOR DD-CARD BLKSIZES - COMPILATION ABANDONED.

and I get the same error up to BUF=40000.

With PARM='LIB,SIZE=9210K,BUF=50000,XREF' I'm back to:

*OPTIONS IN EFFECT*     SIZE = 9431040  BUF =   50000
IKF0030I-D FRAGMENTED CORE. RUN IN LARGER SIZE REGION.  COMPILATION ABANDONED.

It looks like a dead end?
