Amazing what you find out even after a little under 50 years of Cobol.
 

 Like Vince, I started with ICL 1900, ICL 2900 (new range), IBM 370/3033/3084/3090 (MVT, MVS/SP, MVS/VA, VM/XA, OS/390), VAX/VMS. 
 

 I never came across anything other than the DELETE verb with indexed files.
 

 I would imagine that the High Values thingy is something to do with the IBM ISAM routines rather than Cobol.
 

 Does it also work with VSAM KSDS?
