Well I'd buy that if "SYS1.MACLIB" was hard coded into the IFOX object code.
It is NOT ! Of course, the SYSLIB DDName is !

That's like asking why would I want to
pollute IFOX00 with the new instructions.

Ideally LG/STG would be built into IFOX
and there be no way of removing them.
SYS1.MACLIB comes closest to that
ideal. The instructions will always be
available.
