Indeed. MVS38J is totally free, but only the version (TK3 and TK4- are a good example) with the FMID's starting with an E or an F. So ASMA90 (the HL assembler) and IEV90 (the assembler) are licensed and not a part of MVS38J. I use only the IFOX00 assembler (with MVS defined aliasses ASMBLR and IEUASM) for assembling RPF. Even that version runs fine on z/OS is amode 31, thanks to the macro's GAMOS and GAMAP (with the SETUP routine) and a BSM macro in my own maclib. In MVS38J the BSM will allways be bypassed. Together with RPF and RFE this system is perfect to use. Cheers, Rob
