Having actually looked at the notes, they are dated from 1975. In 1973, IBM
had the PL/I optimizing compiler, which was two releases beyond the F
compiler. So, these notes are probably a bit beyond the F compiler. Also,
the notes say that the procs used were written by the lab and not the IBM
supplied procs.
