Yes you are correct ! The PF key will be an improvement and that is in the
list of things to to do.
Edit will be up and runnng in a couple of days and then I will probably add
both of them ad PF's
 
At the same time I think I"ll remove the transaction ID on the first screen.
 
The idea was that you could use it simultaneously for several different
transactions - (besides EDIT and Browse)
That is probably way down the road, if ever, So the transaction ID is also
superluous.
 
Thanks for the input and let know where you find problems or if it kicks you
out and then you can get back in,
That usually means a DUMP and I can learn from them - truth is I don't have
much time to analyze dumps but if you have a problem that you can recreate
I'd like to know.

I'm using Tom Brennan's TN3270 to connect to your Hercules; sometimes I must
retry one or more times (waiting for 10 seconds time out), but when I get
Hercules screen and then VM/370 screen everything works well (I can stay
connected for hours without dropping).
  The same thing happens if load a large file on real iron in TSO or VM 
Performances are good (subsecond time while browsing little files), only
large files (dumps or listings) require a few seconds to load in memory.
 Should be good performance - everything is in memory ---- But its a laptop 
A little suggestion: is it possible to launch BROWSE with a PF key selecting
the file pointed by the cursor (in VM/SP FLIST way)?

Anyhow I'm very impressed; it's the first time in mankind history that a
Full Screen application runs on a vanilla VM/370 and you must be proud of
yourself :-)
