As to line numbers
Thought about that just now again -
 
In any case its later - but the truth is --- I very rarely use them unless
in XEDIT  for the put command which I intend to  repelace with cut and paste
or in Browse on very very large files. 
Millions of records - But we wont have those anyway. not enough memory
 
I always use Find or Locate - Line numbers change the constants dont.
Find or RFIND is equivalant to GOTO.
 
All  MF editors have them (line numbers), and I am used to seeing them, but
I am not conviced how useful they are.
Most pC editors dont have them and they do not suffer because of that.
