I am using wc3270 -- Bob On Mon, Jul 26, 2010 at 10:57 AM, Rocky <rocsystems@gmail. <mailto:[email protected]> com> wrote: Good News The editor is on the machine (PRE PRE PRE ALPHA) Really need input to get this working right. Type ED instead of BR Most commands are more or less the same as the browser Two new line commands are: I & D I or Inn will insert blank lines at the current pos D or Dnn will delete the lines / still works same as in Browser will find/search for a string = curent pos to end Only the first D or I will get acted upon Otherwise its more or less the same functionality at this point. Except of course you can edit lines Even to the right of the viewable screen where the recors is larger than the dispaly. SHIFT and it fiogures out the positions Meanwhile it's just in storage - doesn't write the file out yet - or I will lose my test data. Updated sources and listings are on the site I need input - CAPS ON CAPS off ???? I have a routine tht does translation on the data you enter - but it is field oriented in my macros So if I use that routine and defines the flds as tran=yes then you will get the equivalent of caps on But you cant turn it off I defined all the editing fields as caps off in the maps and I'll need a program switch, if I need to do the translation Some problem about the logical order of actions -- Not sure how to handle it Is a good rule of thumb to process the action lines on theleft side first and then process the command. for instance - that would work find for DD DD OR CC CC Or should I ignore the command line when their are action fileds - that makes the logic a lot easier just process the action lines what is the logic for SAVE - PF3 automatic save or save only on SAVE or FILE and then you get into the previous question. Do I allow a PF3 if the file has been changed or do I force a QUIT COMMAND Lots of little things here I don't think I should do a save directly but rather a save on the A DISK under a different name and then a copy all kinds of issues will arise - R/O- no Room etc. Need unified logic - like to hear suggestions PASTE is in the down the road a bit - probably next week next for me CC CC (P &r F) or (B & A) - what do you guys prefer? Also DD DD and / on the action line to bring it to the top let me know whats missing - Goal is a useful tool - doesn't have to be the best editor in the world (but that's also a possibility) Any body want to write some HELP Screens - My English is not that good. neither is my spelling Just write them in 76 pos lines and I'll build the maps, I think you can use the PF1 on the first screen as a model ROC _____ From: H390-VM@yahoogroups <mailto:[email protected]> .com [mailto:H390-VM@yahoogroups <mailto:[email protected]> .com] On Behalf Of paoloG Sent: Monday, July 26, 2010 07:59 To: H390-VM@yahoogroups <mailto:[email protected]> .com Subject: [H390-VM] Re: Full screen application Specs --- In H390-VM@yahoogroups <mailto:H390-VM%40yahoogroups.com> .com, "Rocky" <rocsystems@...> wrote: > > Strange - machine is up and working > I logged in and got the logo hit henter and got CP and did DIAL - all worked > Rocky, I'm using Tom Brennan's TN3270 to connect to your Hercules; sometimes I must retry one or more times (waiting for 10 seconds time out), but when I get Hercules screen and then VM/370 screen everything works well (I can stay connected for hours without dropping). Performances are good (subsecond time while browsing little files), only large files (dumps or listings) require a few seconds to load in memory. A little suggestion: is it possible to launch BROWSE with a PF key selecting the file pointed by the cursor (in VM/SP FLIST way)? Anyhow I'm very impressed; it's the first time in mankind history that a Full Screen application runs on a vanilla VM/370 and you must be proud of yourself :-) Regards. Paul
