Reply - Nope It's up and running has been for over a day with no errors. There is still a "Button" Usually we call it a PFKEY and it says help next to it. :*-). Of course after all the discussion I though that you would remember - Press enter to get to the next screen - Where you would usually log in and instead of logging in type type dial CMSUSER. or D cmsuser. (some one suggested changing the name of CMSUSER to UMB. ( User Multi Screee Browser/editior) The you would type D UMB. I kid you not. Then you get a small screen that says press enter to continue and then you get the full screen LOGO that' s where the "BUTTON" is - it's called PF12. But it will just tell you to use a a valid user id to log on. SO use BREXX BREXX or TSTUSR1 TSTUSR1 or MAINT **** and you will get to the flist screen From there just enter normal FLIST parameters like * * A, or * * B or GC* * etc etc and you will get a list of files ( in some case you might get a retrun code 28 if there are no mtching files) From there you choose a file to Browse by typing BR or ED next to the file you want to Browse or edit, or placing the cursor on the line and hitting a PFKEY which is explained on the botom of the map. In the edit application on the command line you have the folowing comds> CMS and Q + whatever you want RDR, PUN, NAMES, DISKS, V DASD. DASD etc etc. CMS LINK followed by the real argumnets to link to a disk - (there is a COPY of the SIXPACK DIRECTORY on the B DISK) CMS ACC --- to acces the disk you linked to CMS REL - if you have too many disk or CMS REL c (DET Or the following ediiting commnads TOP, BOT, UP, Upnnn, DOWN , DOWNnn, CAPS On, CAPS OFF, or you can type / followed by a seach argument On the line commands you can type. M & F/P, I or D, or Inn followed by a blank or Dnn followed by blank, / Will bring that line to the top of the page, CC CC and a F/P, or MM MM and a F/P. DD DD thats pretty much it - Maybe more - I think I will need to write a nanual, Actually I remebber you suggesting that the ideal solution would be something that can edit a 10 line EXEC. Well it's a lot, lot, lot more than that now. Pretty much a usful tool - Consider this the Alpha HELP manual. Always glad to respond to you. Love those professional well thought out questions. Last time I was successful in logging on, there was a screen that told me what button I needed to press to log on. This time I just got a standard VM/370 screen, and I didn't know what to do. I assume that was because the wrong screen was up? BFN. Paul.
