I didn't miss it - I GAVE IT!!!!

That's putting it mildly.

You haven't even used the help I already gave.

You can't do a traditional hello world in the
environment that you specified.

That's all covered here:

Long, long ago. As a direct answer to your question.

You're not using the Sixpack? That's certainly
the quickest and easiest way to get the C
compiler.

Yes, depending on exactly what you mean by that,
that can be done.

No, it's not too demanding, and it's what I already
answered you with so you could see for yourself.

The environment you have - with an assembler
mainline - is constrained - it "needs" to be
non-hosted. That means that printf is not
available. But you can return a fixed string.

That is exactly what I offered to provide, and
am still willing to provide.

Yes, you can first of all tell me what's wrong
with my original answer:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/H390-VM/message/7375

which is ***NOT*** and has ***NEVER BEEN*** RTFM.

If you want more answers about strings, I'm happy
to provide them too.
