HEX is a line command on a specific record not on the command line

Check in HEXwhat is there for the tilde character

CH /rocky/KUKURIKO/

Will change the entire file from top to bottom - Only first occurrence on a
specific line
Will shift characters to the right if the second filed is larger than the
first - or shift characters to the left if the first field is larger that
the second.
No shifting should occur after the trunc position.

Example- assembler
Pos 73-80 is usually a numeric sequence
Pos 72 is the continuation line if you have a coninuing macro or constant

YOU CANNOT SHIFT THOSE CHARACTERS --

SINCE most assembler programs have a sequence Number without the TRUNC 71 -
YOu could not insert anything where field 2 is larger than field one. ever.
Because that would mean shifting the numbers out also logic with shifting
the continuation,
With trunc 71 - the characters shifted out are shifted up until pos 71.

No characters other than blanks or nulls will be shifted out --
YOU get a message and the line is not changed at all ifpos 71 is not
available.
Or 70-and 71 if you need to add two characters - ETC.

Hi Roc,

1) I tried HEX ... HEX on .... nothing happens

2) The 'tilde' character " ~ " is displayed as a blank

3) I'm not sure how the CH and TRUNC work together. Would be nice
to have CH default to first found occurence, with an option CH
/foo/bar/g /g = global ...... maybe also /nnn .e.g CH
/foo/bar/5 (change the next five occurences.

Everything else seems to be working.

Great work!

MIke
