PaoloG (So as not to spark a row of some kind!), Dave, I am indeed building on the laptop with Cygwin, and on the desktop at home with Linux. What I reported was caused by SVN's release on both. I returned to 3.07 and tried VM/370rel6 from the vanilla series, yes the Bob Abeles one. Now as to your suggestion Dave, "Try re-saving CMS on MAINT... DEF STORE 16M IPL 190 SAVESYS CMS NOTE enter SAVESYS straight after IPL where you normally press enter. answer normal prompts and re-try..." This would probably work for the current series of packs.
