Maybe I can..

First, there is a vmfplc2 utility in the hercules source that may be of 
some help.

Second, I'd like to get a hold of one of those AWS files - concurrent 
with a FILEDEF/FILEDEF/MOVEFILE version (for comparison)..

PS : I'm not 100% sure the VMFPLC2 utility provided with "base" VM/370 
(that is Bob's "4 pack") is kosher.. I looked at the output, and it 
looks like of a post VM/370 VMFPLC2 (that is, with an EDF mark on it, so 
it's at least SEPP/BSEPP). This may be a problem, in which case, we may 
need to throw it away and provide our own VMFPLC2 utility.. (not a biggy 
really). Not only that, but I couldn't find ANY source for it (VMFPLC2 
ASSEMBLE is nowhere to be found on the "base" VM/370).
