Tabs are a PITA. I try to convince ASCII programmers
to stop doing that, but they don't listen. I'm not

Right. And it is the user's responsibility to
write a program to demangle what some ASCII
cretin did.

If we ever do reintroduce the death penalty and
get rid of tabs, the only people left to deal
with will be people who say "summer" to mean
"around June", when I'm freezing my nuts off,
people who use something other than the ISO
date format, and people who expect us to 
somehow fit like 50 gazillion weird characters
on our keyboard because they refuse to use
country name + "$" like normal people.

My sister once commented that computers were
invented just in time. Otherwise I would have
become an axe-wielding homicidal maniac (ref
Young Ones - where Vyvyan put his potion in a
coke can so that no-one would drink it by
mistake).
