OK, this looks to have been my problem. An old copy of the
FILEDEF module got saved on the MAINT disk where I keep files
that are preserved across releases. Mine was dated 01/19/10,
the one on the S disk is dated 09/30/10. Deleting the old
FILEDEF causes things to work as we would expect. So all that's
necessary is to delete the PLI EXEC Y wrapper that tries
to issue a "FILEDEF SYSUT1 CLEAR" command. With the FILEDEF
CLEAR issued by the PLI module working, the "FILEDEF SYSUT1
CLEAR" from PLI EXEC gets the (harmless) error message:
FILEDEF SYSUT1 CLEAR
DMSFLD704I Invalid CLEAR request.
because SYSUT1 is no longer defined.
