I can't seem to locate the License Agreement I supposedly(*) agreed to, so I'm not sure whether this is kosher or not, BUT... The general procedure is as follows (note: being purposely vague here): create 3GB fba herc dasdinit IPL copy cpload module fix system config ddr copy ramdisk to dasd system will crash once the copy is done (this is expected and not a problem) Done! IPL from your new permanent dasd! The procedure was given to me by someone else, so I'm not sure whether I can share it since I'm not sure whether the license agreement is being violated or not. Except for MAYBE the system config thing, I don't think it is. All we're doing is copying it to a more convenient form, that's all. That *should* be allowed I think. If you continue to use it beyond (30?) (90?) days, or use it for production, then I'm pretty sure THAT'D be a violation. But just copying it to disk? Nah. I can't believe that doing THAT would violate the license. But modifying the system config I'm a little unsure of. It's not something I'm familiar with. None of the VM systems I've ever worked on ever had such a beast. It seems kind of like hacking a registry entry in Windows to work around a trial restriction or something, but since I'm unfamiliar with SYSTEM CONFIG and what it's for I'm not sure. <shrug> In any case, whenever it's IPLed it now says "0801" and not "0881", and based on IBM's FAQ, that means it's no longer an evaluation edition. -- "Fish" (David B.
