   Hi Brian,

   I have modified the XTerm file and it has changed the right controls key
   behavior, but it has changed it to act as the enter key (in addition to
   the actual enter key).

   Where did you find the various options for the string() value and their
   meanings?

   Also, the font_* stuff is working well with xt5250.

 (I'm running Kubuntu 8.04 and my XTerm file is located at

 with and add these three lines:

 <Key>BackSpace: string(0x7F) \n\
 <Key>Control_L: string("\022") \n\

 That will fix your backspace and control keys the way you want.

 To make the font larger using xt5250 after you start the program (type
 "xt5250 red" without the quotes at a command line) hold down your
 control key and right click (and hold the mouse button down) on the
 window that opens up - move the mouse cursor down to the "huge" setting.

 I know these issues have been discussed before (I know because I asked
 about them myself!) so if you do some searching of old messages you'll
 likely find a lot more information.

 If you must use tn5250 instead of xt5250 (they are both part of the
 tn5250 package by the way) I'm sure Scott or James or someone else can
 give you instructions on that.
