Hi Bill, I read your message but I don't have the tools to do anything about it. I don't have windows compilers or even a windows machine. Scott wrote the windows front end so hopefully he finds time to post here, though he is very busy. I don't think disabling ASSERT is the right way to go. The ASSERT macros are there to catch errors, disabling them will simply cause the error to continue. Are you saying that the problem lies in the ASSERT code itself? James Rich ------------------------------------------------------- No. The problem isn't in the ASSERT itself and I agree that disabling the ASSERTs isn't the proper way to go. I was just trying to find a near term solution until a permanent fix could be created. I tried downloading the source and following the instructions in the README.txt file in the win32 directory of the tn5250-0.17.4.tar file. I made it up to Step 7 in the BUILDING TN5250 section but I couldn't get the "make" step to work. I got messages about needing InnoSetup2 or something like that, and I didn't see any references to that in the document so I figured I better stop before I did some real harm. I just wanted to see if I could do it. Thanks for replying to my issue. -- This is the Linux 5250 Development Project (LINUX5250) mailing list To post a message email: LINUX5250-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/linux5250 or email: LINUX5250-request-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/linux5250.
