In my experience, it's more likely to be the opposite problem: 
wireless coverage overlap.

I've had a *ton* of performance problems where two wireless networks 
overlap, but have been configured to run on the same channel number. 
This is getting more and more common now that everyone in the world 
seems to have their own wireless network.

If you have two networks in one spot where both are set up as (for 
example) channel 11, then the devices are constantly checking which 
network to send the data to.  Often times, they are switching from 
network to network repeatedly, causing huge performance problems.

The solution is to keep the channel numbers as far apart as you can.  If 
you have two overlapping networks, set one to channel 1, and one to 
channel 11.  Much less interference.   If there's another one in the 
area that the devices might hit, set it to channel 6.  Try to keep them 
as far apart, numerically, as you can.

That's been my experience, anyway.
