There was a bug fix to xterm that made it ignore screen size and font
changes, that caused a problem with my Debian packages of 0.17.3, that
went into Ubuntu. This is fixed in my packages of 0.17.4.

Are their any different environment variables set when xt5250 is run?
Does Escape-3 work instead?
