Thank you for your reply. Both tn5250 and xt5250 didn't work for me so I installed x5250 and gave it a shot. The backspace works perfectly now. However, I'm a noob when it comes to X, and I was hoping I could get help with a couple of things to make it look good. I need the x window evoked from x5250 to be automatically maximized. I also need to change the font colors. Any ideas?? Again, thanks so much Melissa ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linux 5250 Development Project" To:"Linux 5250 Development Project" Cc: Sent:Fri, 30 Aug 2013 17:45:01 -0500 Subject:Re: [LINUX5250] Still.... Backspace issue Hello Melissa, What operating system are you running this on? Since you refer to xterm, can we assume that you are running some flavor of X11? If so, which one? Have you tried xt5250? Does it work better or worse for you? It's just a simple shell script -- so if it solves your problem, you could just take a look at what it's doing. Or, you might try using x5250 which reads the keyboard directly instead of going through the curses interface -- this might work better for you. Sorry for not replying to your original message -- I no longer use X11 as my desktop, and was hoping that someone with more recent experience would jump in and assist.
