Re: auto-signon

Hi Bart,

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with Raspberry Pi at all.  But, I can 
tell you that if you wanted to do auto sign-on in a Linux system, you'd 
create a config file (rc file.)

This could be a per-user file in $HOME/.tn5250rc

Or, it could be in the global location of /etc/tn5250rc or 
/usr/local/etc/tn5250rc (depending on whether your platform usually uses 
/etc or /usr/local/etc for it's config files)

In the file you'd do something like:

myprofile {
    host = yoursystem.example.com
    env.USER=YOUR-USERID
    env.IBMSUBSPW=YOURPASSWORD
}

Then you'd invoke tn5250 like this:

tn5250 myprofile

And it will send the userid/password from that profile and automatically 
sign the user in.  There are additional variables that can be sent along 
with that:

env.IBMCURLIB=yourlib
env.IBMIMENU=yourmenu
env.IBMPROGRAM=yourprogram

Of course, some system administrators will disable the ability to use 
these variables (on the server-side) for security purposes, so you'll 
have to find out if these are allowed.

To learn about more of the options available, you might want to take a 
look at the man page for tn5250 that should've been installed along with 
the emulator.
