   More of a comment than an answer: The retailer I worked for uses TN5250
   exclusively for end users across the company. Having source allowed us to
   modify what users could do in pulldowns, plus change coloring based on
   whether they were in test or live systems to avoid accidents like damaging
   production data.
   I retired and no one there is capable of modifying it so no more changes.
   Fantastic emulator and ultimately modifiable (via source). And free.
   Nothing more I could have hoped for. Thank you.

     I guess a good question would be "does anyone still use tn5250?"   This
     tool was very successful years ago, but other tools like tn5250j and
     IBM's ACS are more popular now.  Is anyone still interested in
     discussing this?
