Only VMware Server ESX (now ESXi) runs on bare metal (to tell the truth it's a heavily modified LINUX thar runs VMware..). So IMHO it's better to run Hercules under your *FIRST* OS (Linux or Windows). Don't try to run MVS38j as a Guest OS on VMware... you would be disappointed ;-) MVS38j runs as a guest OS of Hercules under Linux or Windows; not VMware. Regards. Paul
