I am very upset about this news. If I ever -did- (*cough*) do some WINE
work, there is -no way- I would duel license it under X11 now. While the
X11 legally allows them to do anything they want with the code, I think
that their reaction to this abominal. In fact, if you'll excuse the bad
pun, it seems TG are emulating more than just Microsofts APIs :)
The fact TG are willing, if needed, to change the license of their code if
someone distributes binaries of it is just wrong. Sure, Gav doesn't "want"
to do it, but that he says it might be considered isn't saying he "wont".
Mind you, this is pretty much just extending from the lack of major coe
released fram TransGaming. I guess, when you look at the big picture,
stopping binary distribution also is just the next logical step :P
Bad showing of community spirit IMHO, although not any more than usual..
and I think that anyone contributing to ReWind should be well aware of the
fact that TransGaming might put this restriction in place.
