  FWIW, the FSF is well aware of this situation, and it seems that the new
GPL v. 3 will contain new provision to allow the use of GPLed code in
BSD/X11 codebases. And if you remember, the GPL says "You can use GPL v.2
or, at your option, every later version", so this means that all code
licensed under the GPL v.2 and previous ones, will be available to the
X11/BSD folks.

  BTW, this is not automatically true for the linux kernel, since they
have explicitally removed that paragraph.
