The goal of GNU licenses is to make changes in law. The goal of a BSD license is to protect the author. It is easy to see that BSD licenses are designed to let the author have fun (remove worry). GNU licenses have their own agenda. If you disagree, you should read up on the philosophy concerning GNU (http://www.gnu.org).
