Your main conclusion:

The truth is that the LGPL can't do this no matter how much you
believe it can.

Many LGPL proponents attachments to the LGPL seems to be similar to
falling in love ie a tendency you seem to only the good sides
and to ignore the bad sides.

Unless or until the LGPL camp stop romantizing over the license it
it is rather pointless to continue the discussion.
