Good point.  I do not know whether the benefits outweigh the risks of
commercial interests simply exploiting the altruism of others.  Apparently,
many Wine developers felt Wine was either already suffering from such
exploitation or was at risk of becoming exploited.  The BSD Unix and X/Windows
projects, on the other hand, appear to have found the opposite to be true.  I
would be interested in learning more about the experiences of projects that
have tried the BSD/X11 license.
