You're right, the FAQ lacks an entry like
"Where does Wine store my files?"

The closest it comes is

Do either of those help?

(I think ~ is /Users/yourusername on Mac, so wine should store
your C drive at /Users/yourusername/.wine/drive_c.  But I don't
have a mac, so I'm not sure.)
