There is a minor issue at startup (probably with the usb hardware recognition at alsa startup time). However, if the us-16x08 doesn't show in QJackCtrl rightaway, it is sufficient to stop ALSA (by selecting a different audio driver in QJackCtrl), relaunch Jack, stop it and switch back to ALSA. Once recognized it performs fine.</div> <div> </div> <div>Now this is for the audio interface. The us-16x08 also features a built-in mixer with compressors and EQs which are accessible through a settings panel software for Win and MAC (download from the TASCAM web site: http://tascam.com/content/downloads/products/859/us-16x08_driver_v103_win.zip). I tried to run it in wine (1.4 and later 1.6), and it has a problem loading qwindows.dll (from QT5), although as far as I can tell, the library is where it should be in the installation folder. A lot of wine applications have this issue, and cures have been found, yet it seems that none of them works for the tascam software.</div> <div> </div> <div>Any ideas how to get this program running in wine? And if not, wouldn't it be a nice community task proposition to get it running in Ubuntu Studio? After all, the US-16x08 is a professional and affordable audio interface, with the settings panel running, it would be fully supported! A real plus for Linux musicians. Maybe add it to winetricks?</div> <div> </div> <div>Unfortunately, I am not much of a programmer, but I could help experiment if someone provides the instructions.</div> <div> </div> <div>Thanks and best regards,</div> <div> </div> <div>Jochen</div></div></body></html> --===============2154003702303200339== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline
