Building with GL okay, then no GL found?

Hiya, I'm trying to build WineX from CVS under Debian Sid machine; I'm sure I've got all the right packages installed to do so, including any mesa*-dev packages, because building WineX goes fine. Relevant part from ./configure output: checking Checking if the sdldrv should be built... yes checking for sdl-config... /usr/bin/sdl-config checking for SDL - version >= 1.2.0... yes checking GL/gl.h usability... yes checking GL/gl.h presence... yes checking for GL/gl.h... yes checking GL/glx.h usability... yes checking GL/glx.h presence... yes checking for GL/glx.h... yes checking for GL/glext.h... yes checking for up-to-date OpenGL version... yes checking for thread-safe OpenGL version... no checking for glXCreateContext in -lGL... no checking for gluLookAt in -lGLU... no checking for gluBuild2DMipmapLevels... no Once it's built and installed, running something like notepad.exe runs perfectly; anything that uses GL, though, chokes and dies with something like: err:dinput:SysMouseAImpl_Unacquire Unacquiring a not-acquired device !!! err:opengl:X11DRV_ChoosePixelFormat No OpenGL support compiled in. fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_DD_GetCurrentMode :stub fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_DD_SetCurrentMode :stub err:opengl:X11DRV_ChoosePixelFormat No OpenGL support compiled in. err:opengl:X11DRV_ChoosePixelFormat No OpenGL support compiled in. FYI, I'm using a nVidia Geforce FX5600 card, which I've configured properly with the latest nVidia kernel source/glx stuff, and everything works fine - GL apps under Linux work perfectly (i.e. glxgears/tuxracer/armagetron, and at very nice framerates). I'm also running 2.6.0-test5 (compatibility is OK with WineX?) The ./configure line I'm using is: root@chaos[/usr/src/wine]# ./configure --enable-opengl --enable-sdldrv --with-x --prefix=/usr/lib/transgaming/winex --enable-pthreads /usr/lib/transgaming/winex/lib is in my ld.so.conf, bin is in my path, so there's no issues there. I'm running applications as root, with DISPLAY=:0.0 exported. I've got Windows 98 installed on another drive, and mounted; ~/.wine/config is pointed towards this (as in, [Drive C] is this mount). Any clues? This has me baffled.
