I'm finding bf1942-1.4 w/ desertcombat.com mod to be more playable. However, I hope i'm not jumping the gun becuase I've yet to test playing it in a multi-player game. Graphic glitches and font problems appear to be fixed. Crash/freezes with going back to the main menu while playing a game also seems to be resolved (however, there is a long pause and blank screen while swithing from game to menu). I'm also impressed with the improvement in frame rates. Am I satisfied? eh. I think everybody wants faster still. However, I am impressed and find the game *playable* (I've only tested single player mode...and I didn't bother turning off all my virtual desktops etc etc). The only real problem I'm having is that the linux-joystick drivers and the BF1942 game is detecting switches only on my joystick as being constantly pressed. They are switches and not buttons. Seems that most saitek joysticks have some switches employed into the joystick. -- Roger http://www.eskimo.com/~roger/index.html ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: INetU Attention Web Developers & Consultants: Become An INetU Hosting Partner.
