The problem is that the definition for the WINE_EXPECT is presently in winnt.h which cannot rely on the output of include/config.h due to winelib requirements. It's been like this for a while becase I didn't quite get around to fully thinking about what solution I liked best before I was on vacation. There are several hand alterations which are easy if you wish to get WineX compiling or just use gcc 2.96 or later (none of which are known to miscompile WineX). The simplest for you is to define WINE_EXPECT to be an empty macro but it'll probably be fixed this week.
