Sorry, my mistake. I normally manually start the Samba server, when I
want to share files from the notebook, though it's not necessary when
accessing files on other systems. However, I should have started it
this morning, to be consistent with last night. Remember smbd is the
server, which clients connect to, and it's not used by the client, when
accessing files on other systems. Either way, it doesn't make any
difference to the problem.
