Well its good that somebody else is having a similar problem. I say similar,
since my tunnel is like this right from the start, not just after heavy load
:-(

Anyway like you said, lets hope somebody has a solution

well, I have the experience, but not always. It happens when the tunnel was
used for some time with heavy load and then, suddenly, this effect starts.
And even worse, when I try to restart the CIPE service, sometimes the
machine gets a blue screen and reboots ...
Really have no idea how to sort out and to trace the problem down to the
source. But I would think that it might be some queue overflow or packet
sequence number error due to disregarded packets or so.

I tried that on several NT and W2K machines and all show the same behavior.
A normal PING between the tunneled machines is 100% ok, as well as
UDP-packet flow. The problem must be indeed somewhere inside the
encapsulating or de-encapsulating mechanism, I suppose.

Hopefully, somebody with more time and experience in driver writing has the
time to track that down ...
