I've poked at this a little more and localized the failure to the first
line of dev_mc_discard:
spin_lock_bh(&dev->xmit_lock);
I haven't hacked the network code since the last time Linux version
numbers started with an odd digit. Any help is appreciated. ;-)
I've also found that the tunnel doesn't always (ever?) start when
--enable-cryptoapi is not used in CIPE's ./configure command line.
It goes through the motions but never exchanges any packets through
the tunnel.
Another thing that I'm sure isn't intentional is that the module name
is now "cipc" (as in "cipc.ko", "ifconfig cipc0", etc).
