I haven't tried 2.6 kernels, but I use a similar setup with 2.4 and
orinoco on my laptop.

Does your orinoco come up, and does it pass packets over the wireless
network without cipe? You need that working before you will get anywhere
with a cipe link over wireless.

That's a problem. It might help to post your cipe config file here
(sanitised) so we can see what interfaces cipe is trying to use.

I don't think cipe needs a hardware address. Here's a working one:
