FYI, all AMD K6 processors are NexGen RISC86-i686 cores.
They are fully compatible with the i686 (Pentium Pro).

All clones are either i486 (possibly with some i586 support) or i686 ISA
compatible.
The i586 (Pentium) had a lot of quirks fixed in the i686 (Pentium Pro),
hence why the clones targetted i686 ISA instead.

You should be running an i686 kernel on it.

P.S. Of course, unfortuantely, a lot of code was written to those
Pentium i586 quirks, including performing worse on true Pentium Pros.
