Good news! I wonder if it is a quirk with all versions of the OSX sdk or
not? Appending to CFLAGS in configure.ac would be the thing to do but I
am unsure to add it for *-apple-darwin* or make a compile time test to
test for linking failure then append to CFLAGS, then.
