The Gpg4win build system uses lots of patches but almost always the patches are manually edited to include a #! /bin/sh patch -p1 -l -f $* < $0 exit $? header. The -l takes care of the trailing white space which the editor removed. With the removed traling spaces it is no problem to commit these files.
