I was curious to why and found that the xlclang option '-P' creates a .i-file and does not generate the output on stdout. In case you want to support xlclang, either the option -P needs to be dropped or the .i-file put into the following '| grep...'. Regardless, even xlclang++ runs into the same 'Undefined symbol' after that.
