It's most probably the CK-patch, it works on 2.6.8 for me.  It may be
due to some security change in that patch.  It can probably be worked
around in fusermount.  If you want to do a little hacking, just
comment out the calls to drop_privs() and restore_privs() in
util/fusermount.c.  This is not a proper fix, but probably it helps in
your case.
