The necessary changes for the solution you suggested are smaller than
expected and I already commited the patch. Although the "setsize"
problem is fixed I'm not sure a similar problem exists for other calls
of av_cache_checkspace() in other modules.

As I'm currently in progress of adding avfs to debain I would release
0.9.5 (to skip my unofficial 0.9.4) to see if there are problems with
other architectures. If everything is fine we can go to 1.0.0.
