-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 AFS Workshop/Conference Europe 2008 - Call for Paper September, 24-29, 2008 TU Graz, Austria Institute of Computer Graphics & Knowledge Visualization Institute of Signal Processing and Speech Communication (Open)AFS is a distributed file system, used by people all over the world. After the last few workshops hold in the United States of America, this year the conference will be a hosted in Europe: Graz, Austria - September 24th-26th 2008. In the last 13 years the German AFS workshop took place at different locations all over Germany. This year we broke this rule, held the workshop in Austria and invite ALL AFS users, administrators, developers and all with interest to the AFS file system to join our European conference. The conference talks will be held in English. Invited speakers - Mr. Derrick Brashear and Mr. Jeffrey Altman – will attend the conference and talk about the current status of the OpenAFS foundation, software and future development. Additionally a debugging session is planned. We still got free slots for interesting talks; please contact us at [email protected] in order to attend as a speaker with an interesting talk about an AFS topic! We would like to continue with an old tradition from the last German AFS workshops: short site reports. Please consider preparing a short 15 min site report about your AFS cell (how much users, data...) for presentation at the conference. Due to travel costs for the invited speakers from the USA and hosting the conference for 2.5 days we need to take a conference fee of 210 Euro. Early bird bonus: registration until 1st of September 2008 and pay only 160 Euro. The fee includes 2x lunch, a guided city visit, a social event at "Heuriger" (wine tavern), coffee and a free shirt. Surplus will be spent to the OpenAFS Foundation. More information is available at http://www.openafs.at Registration starts August, 1st 2008. Please attend as a speaker with a interesting talk, we are very interested in YOUR usage of (Open)AFS at your place!
