IMPORTANT: OpenAFS for Windows 1.3.66 Users Must Read This Message Before Installing XP SP2

Thanks to Alex Yu the OpenAFS gatekeepers were made aware of a
conflict between OpenAFS for Windows 1.3.66 and Windows XP SP2
(final release build 1840) in time for it to be caught before
the release of OpenAFS for Windows 1.3.70.

If OpenAFS for Windows 1.3.66 is installed when Windows XP SP2
(final release) is applied or after it is applied, it is highly
likely that the machine will not finish booting and allow the
user to login.  In this situation, users must boot into safe
mode and edit the registry to remove the following key:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows_NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\Notify\AfsLogon

Removal of this key will disable the Winlogon Event Handler which
is used to destroy the AFS tokens when a user logs off the machine.
This functionality was added in 1.3.66 and was compatible with every
version of Windows including XP SP2 builds as late as 2004-07-14 (1832).

OpenAFS for Windows 1.3.70 will ship without installing this key.
