The AFS Client Service SMB Server does not support the UNICODE 
extensions.  Therefore, The Windows SMB Client will always perform
a conversion from UNICODE to the system defined OEM Code Page.
Adding UNICODE support to the SMB Server is estimated at approximately
four months work.

Until that occurs you must perform a renaming of files in the user's
profile before it can be copied back to the AFS file system space.
