Should "fs trace" default to OFF in the 1.4 client?

Folks, I would like your opinion. The 1.4 client is very stable. For the last 18 months I have defaulted the internal debugging of the AFS client to be "on". (fs trace -on) I have done this because there were frequently problems found including crashes, deadlocks, etc. that required access to the log data. Now that things are much better, I am wondering if perhaps the release (non-Debug) distributions should default to trace logging being "off". This would reduce the memory footprint and improve performance. Thoughts? Jeffrey Altman
