According to the afsd_init.log file which Doug submitted, SMB_AUTH_NTLM 
is being used.
Therefore, only locally cached passwords should be used.  Of course, the 
authentication domain
is being set to the local machine name, so if the CIFS client only 
specifies an account name and
the Kerberos principal name and local account name match, .... well you 
get the idea....

However, in the case of Tommie's report, he is logging in via the local 
Administrator account
and not using Kerberos at all.
